MIAMI SPENDS MILLIONS FOR LIBRARY BUT FORGETS BOOKS!
Miami is spending over 14 million dollars to build a new library. It's going to be big. It's going to be beautiful. It's going to be state-of-the-art.
It's not going to have anything in it.
When planning for the new library in Miami Beach, they thought about everything. They decided it should go on a prime location, near the Bass art museum. Dade County agreed to contribute $11.5 million of the costs. And the people running the show in Miami Beach thought that the county would also come up with $3.5 million to buy books, videotapes, and the other stuff you actually go to a library to use. But Dade County bureaucrats were assuming that money was going to come from Miami Beach. So... no money to stock the shelves.
