KNOWING HE WAS INNOCENT, PROSECUTORS SEND CAPTAIN TO JAIL!

Image of today's outrage

Described by his commanders as "a man who brightens everyone's life" and "inspirational," Army Captain Derrick Robertson is headed for prison after being seduced by a female private. Meanwhile, known murderers are released on technicalities (See the Daily Outrage story).

Defense attorneys allege that prosecutors knew all along that Robertson was not guilty of any rape charges but, under political pressure, pushed forward with the case. The private, Theresa Shannon, went to Robertson's house to discuss another affair she was having. At his house, Shannon initiated physical contact with Robertson.

Cleared of the rape charge, Robertson will still serve time for a single instance of having sex with someone serving in his company. The black captain started as a private and worked his way up through the ranks to become company commander. He will be discharged from the military after a distinguished career of eleven years.
